Private Library – Kettering, Ohio

Stull Woodworks recently completed this beautiful library for a very valuable repeat customer. From the start, the customer was very involved with the planning and design, and played a key role in helping produce a beautiful living space. The inspiration for the style and theme of this project came from the English Tudor Revival architecture of the Stan Hywet mansion in Akron, Ohio. The scope of the project included the hand carved paneling, custom ornate trim, stair case and custom book shelving in the great room as well as the adjoining den. The project took nearly a year to design and plan, and about six months from the start of fabrication to the finish of installation. All the material was American Walnut which was custom finished by Final Finishes in Covington, Ohio. From the beginning, this project was an exciting challenge to design and manufacture a functional living space while maintaining the architecturally accurate desires of the customer.
