• Journeyman Cabinetmaker/Millworker
• Finisher Position
  Duties include: Prepare commercial wood millwork components for painting or staining by sanding, priming, and sealing between coats. Rectify flaws by filling cracks, mending broken parts, and smoothing surfaces. Prepare surfaces for finish using sandpaper, chisels, or sanders. Shield areas during finishing by removing accessories and masking them with tape, plastic and cardboard. Eliminate excess solvents using cloths soaked in paint thinner. Choose finishing materials carefully, considering wood type and hardness, blending for desired tones. Assist in applying topcoats manually, through spray techniques, or with automated painting machines. Help with handling, stacking, and packing components within the workshop. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the finishing room and equipment. Use different products and chemicals as required and ensure proper storing and mixing them. Ability to troubleshoot issues with different products as situations arise.
  This Position requires 3 years of prior work experience. Candidates must possess strong color vision to blend paint accurately, skills to operate and maintain paint sprayers, stamina for extended standing and bending, strength for lifting heavy objects and maneuvering in different positions while using protective gear like masks and gloves.
