We had the opportunity to reproduce some very unique balusters this week. We started with a square blank of walnut and turned as much as we could on the lathe.
One baluster we reproduced, was completely finished on the lathe.

On the second baluster, we turned as much as possible on the lathe, then removed it and started hand carving the spiral.

After the carving was finished, we spent some time sanding it.

It took some time, but this is what we ended up with. Jordan did a great job!
