Texas Restoration Project

The day is grey, dreary, and quite icey, but we are indoors, warm, and making lots of sawdust!

We are currently in the middle of a restoration project for large estate and it has been an exciting project.  It started with a several day search for reclaimed, old-growth Loblolly Pine.  Reclaimed lumber often comes from buildings that are being torn down or it is harvested from rivers and ponds.  After several phone calls we finally found the perfect supplier to accomodate our needs. Old Texas Wood was able to provide exactly what we needed.

The second step of the project was to build and submit sample mock-ups to ensure that what we produced would be acceptable as the final product.  After the submittals were approved, we were allowed to get busy making sawdust!  We have been making parts and pieces for the last month and we still have a ways to go.  We have made moldings for a 19-piece entablature, the front door surround, windows, siding, porch railing, cypress decking, columns, and so much more.

I'm sure we're keeping a few horses comfortable this winter with all the sawdust we have been shipping out.
